What You’ll Need

Here’s the list of ingredients you need to make the yummiest Baileys pudding shots:

  • Thawed whipped topping – Cool Whip or another store-brand version will do. You can also make your own stabilized whipped cream if you prefer.
  • Chocolate vodka – There are so many great brands. For the smoothest taste, see my list of favorites below.
  • Baileys Irish Cream – Refrigerate for an hour before making these for best results.
  • Milk – Whole milk will set up the thickest, but 1% or 2% will also work in this recipe.
  • Chocolate pudding mix – Any instant pudding mix will do.
  • Crumbled graham crackers – you can crush up crackers yourself or find a box of graham crumbs at your grocery store.
  • Mini Hershey’s chocolate bars – For a sweet garnish.
  • Mini marshmallows – To make these true s’mores pudding shots, you’ve gotta have marshmallows.
  • Condiment cups

What kind of chocolate vodka is best?

There are plenty of great chocolate vodka options out there. Here are a few of my best recommendations:

  • 360 Double Chocolate Flavored Vodka is deliciously rich and smooth, but as an added bonus, it’s made by an eco-friendly company that sources local ingredient and uses sustainable production methods.
  • Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka is an award-winning, hand-crafted vodka that blows away a lot of the competition because of its high-quality ingredients and hints of caramel and coffee.
  • Cupcake Devil’s Food Chocolate Flavored Vodka – The Cupcake brand has established itself as a leader in delicious, affordable wines. Their Chocolate Vodka is no exception. It’s smooth and rich, and goes well in any sweet cocktail or shot.
  • Smirnoff X1 Intense Chocolate – You don’t have to be fancy to enjoy chocolate vodka. Stick to an old classic like Smirnoff for a familiar vodka taste with a delicious touch of chocolate.

Tips for Making Chocolate Pudding Shots with Bailey’s

Here are a few suggestions that might make these pudding shots even yummier and easier!

  • While any brand pudding will work in this recipe, they do vary in flavor quality. Use a good quality chocolate pudding mix for the best flavor.
  • You can serve these immediately after making, but I think they taste best cold, so if you can, chill the s’more pudding shots for at a few hours before serving.
  • If you want stronger shots, you can adjust the amount of alcohol you add, but keep in mind, if you add too much, your pudding might not set. Reduce the milk if you want to add more alcohol.

Serving Suggestions

  • If you want, you can serve Baileys Pudding Shots as mini dessert cups. Divide the pudding mixture between 6-7 small dessert bowls, add a small spoon, and garnish. Don’t forget to remind your guests they’ll be consuming numerous shots!
  • Turn your dessert cups into mini s’mores desserts by placing a layer of graham crumbs on the bottom of the cups, then a layer of pudding. Repeat the layers, then garnish as desired.

Can I Make These Pudding Shots Ahead?

Yes! You can absolutely make these ahead. They will stay very fresh for up to 24 hours, and will be edible for 2-3 days if kept in the fridge.

You can also freeze your pudding shots. Put lids on your cups and then place all your cups in even layers in an air tight container. Freeze for up to 3 months.

You can thaw your frozen shots in the fridge, or eat them frozen if you want!

What other things can I garnish with?

While graham crumbs, chocolate, and marshmallows help make these ‘S’more’ themed, these chocolate pudding shots can be garnished will all kinds of yummy treats! Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Whipped cream and hot fudge sauce
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Crushed Skor bars
  • Crushed Oreos
