Recipe Ingredients

This easy holiday sangria is made with just 5 ingredients. See the recipe box below for the measurements.

  • White wine
  • Sparkling white grape juice
  • White cranberry juice
  • Cranberries – Fresh cranberries are best, but frozen ones will work too.
  • Apples – I used two green Granny Smith apples and two red apples (Gala or Honeycrisp) for a variety in color.
  • Pitcher – This recipe makes enough sangria to fill a 40 ounce pitcher.

What Type of Wine Is Best for Sangria?

For this white Christmas sangria – and any sangria – you want to choose a dry, crisp white wine. Think your favorite Pinot Grigio, Savignon Blanc, or even Moscato. Avoid super sweet white wines as the juices add enough sweetness.

That said, the most important thing is to just add a white wine that you like to drink.

Christmas Sangria Variations

Here are a few ways to change up this sangria recipe.

  • Use your favorite red sangria
  • Add some bourbon or spiced whiskey
  • Add green grapes
  • Add some rosemary sprigs

How to Make White Christmas Sangria

One thing to love about this Christmas sangria? It comes together in just a few minutes.

  • Add the ingredients to the pitcher. Add the cranberries, apple slices, wine, and white cranberry juice to a pitcher. Stir.
  • Chill. Refrigerate for 4 hours or more to let the fruit infuse.
  • Serve. Pour into cocktail glasses over ice. Enjoy!

A Note On Adding Ice

You’ll notice in the recipe card, I mention filling the pitcher with ice. This is optional but does help lighten up the drink. You can also choose to just serve it over ice.

Serving Suggestions

This pitcher sangria recipe makes enough for 8 to 10 glasses, depending on how much you serve at a time. You can add some extra cranberries or apple slices as a garnish, or even rim the glasses with festive red sugar.

How Far In Advance Can You Make White Wine Sangria?

White wine sangria will last for a day or two in the fridge. After that point, the fruit will start to lose its oomph and eventually sour.

If you’re making this in advance, several hours or overnight is best.
