Quick & Easy Jello Shots with Pineapple Jello

Plenty of pineapple jello shots are made with malibu rum, but I discovered a secret – there might be something even better, that makes smooth, delicious shots. The secret is… WHIPPED CREAM VODKA!

Ahh yes, it’s smooth and creamy, and blends perfectly with the pineapple jello. Pineapple vodka jello shots have an unexpectedly sweet flavor, and everyone will be asking you what you put in them to make them taste so good!

Jello Shot Essentials

We make a LOT of jello shots around here. It’s our favorite thing to make for any party or gathering. After much trial and error, here are our must-have tools for making jello shots.

  • Condiment cups – Unless you have a large stash of shot glasses, you’ll want to make your jello shots in condiment cups. Most jello shots are made in 2 ounce condiment cups but if you want the shots to go further, you can use 1 ounce condiment cups instead.
  • Sauce pan – You’ll want to use a decent, non-stick saucepan for preparing your jello shots. We like this one.
  • Baster – A baster is my secret to easily filling the jello shot cups, without making a mess!
  • Measuring cups – To ensure you’re adding the right amount of water and liquor, you’ll want a decent measuring cup as well.

What You’ll Need

To make the best pineapple jello shots, you’ll need:

  • Island Pineapple Jello If you can’t find Island Pineapple, any store brand pineapple will work, too.
  • Water – Some cold, some boiling.
  • Whipped cream vodka – You can also use regular vodka, but I think the whipped cream flavor gives this a little something extra.
  • Condiment Cups – Plastic shot glasses can work too, but I like the shape of condiment cups best.
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional) – A whipped cream squirt can works really well.
  • Fresh pineapple chunks for topping (optional) – A fresh pineapple will work best, but drained, canned pineapple chunks will work too.

How to Make Pineapple Jello Shots

These pineapple jello shots with vodka come together in a snap. Assemble your ingredients, then follow these easy steps.

  • Get your cups ready. First, line your condiment cups on a shallow cookie sheet.
  • Make the jello. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once it’s begun to boil (with lots of bubbles), remove it from the heat and whisk in your Island Pineapple Jello mix. Stir, stir, stir, until it’s totally dissolved.
  • Add water and vodka. Then, add in 1 cup of cold water (cold from the tap is fine) and 1 cup of vodka. Stir it all together.
  • Transfer to cups and refrigerate. Divide the Jello mixture between all of the condiment cups. Move them to the fridge to chill and set for at least 4 hours.
  • Garnish and serve. Before serving, give each one a squirt of whipped cream and add a pineapple chunk to the top. Enjoy!

Tips for Making The Best Jello Shots With Pineapple Jello

Most Jello shots are pretty easy to make, but there are some rules to follow. If you deviate too far from the recipe, these won’t set. So here are some tips and tricks:

  • Measure the water carefully. Make sure you measure your water carefully and bring it to a complete boil.
  • Stir your Jello into the boiling water until it’s totally dissolved. You don’t want a bunch of Jello crystals at the bottom. Try to mix them all in.
  • Can I add more liquor? If you want to add more alcohol, add it in place of part of the cold water. But these are already pretty strong, so be careful!

What Other Alcohol Is Good With Pineapple Jello?

I love the whipped cream vodka in these shots, but if you want other options, you can try:

  • Regular vodka
  • Mango vodka
  • Malibu rum
  • White rum
  • Pineapple mango vodka
  • Watermelon vodka

How to Store

You can store these pineapple vodka jello shots in the fridge. Place the lids on the condiment cups and store them for up to 3 days. You may want to leave the garnish off until you’re ready to serve them.

Can This Be Made In Advance?

Yup! These can absolutely be made in advance. Make them a few days ahead and keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to serve. You can also double this recipe if you need to make plenty.
