Easy White Christmas Margarita for a Crowd
When I think about coconut cocktails, I usually think summer. But this White Christmas Margarita proved me wrong.
Tequila blanco is mixed with coconut milk and lime juice for a unique Christmas cocktail that’s sure to steal the show. Add some cranberries and rosemary for a festive twist and even more flavor.
I chose to make this a pitcher margarita recipe because it’s so simple and easy to prepare in advance. Just combine the ingredients and pour over ice. Easy peasy!

What You’ll Need
This pitcher margarita recipe requires just 7 ingredients. Christmas cocktails don’t get much easier than this!
- Tequila – Silver or blanco tequila works best.
- Simple syrup – Grab some at the store or make homemade simple syrup with just 2 ingredients.
- Lime juice – Freshly squeezed lime juice is key! It will really make these margaritas pop.
- Coconut milk – Adds a rich, creaminess to these margaritas as well as an underlying coconut flavor.
- Fresh cranberries – Adds a pop of color and festive touch.
- Lime wheels
- Fresh rosemary – For a garnish.
What’s The Best Tequila For A Margarita?
You’ll want to use a silver or blanco margarita for this recipe. It has a lighter flavor than gold tequila as it’s only been aged for 2 years, which is ideal when working with flavors like coconut.
The most important thing is to use a quality margarita. Skip the cheapest options as you will definitely be able to taste it. Patron and Don Julio are always great options.

How to Salt (Or Sugar) A Margarita Glass Rim
While most margaritas usually come with a salt rim but for this Christmas margarita, I think a sugar rim is a nice touch. Either works, so take your pick!
In either case, you have two options – to dip the rim in some simple syrup and then into a shallow dish of sugar or salt, or use lime to wet the rim and then dip it into the salt/sugar.
How to Make a White Christmas Margarita
Here’s how to make this easy Christmas margarita pitcher.
- Combine the ingredients. Add the tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and coconut milk to the pitcher. Stir to combine.
- Add the garnishes. Stir in the cranberries and rosemary.
- Serve. Pour into the prepared margarita glasses. Garnish with additional cranberries and a rosemary sprig if desired.

Can This Be Made in Advance?
Absolutely. You can prepare this coconut margarita several days in advance. Just keep it covered in the fridge. Note that you will need to stir it well before serving as the coconut milk will sink to the bottom.
