Easy Apple Jello Shots

After our Crown Peach jello shots became such a hit, we knew we had to try more versions of Crown Royal jello shots! And since we were already into fall, when the coveted Crown Royal Apple becomes readily available, we thought we not recreate our favorite shot with apple instead of peach?

I have to say, these Crown Apple jello shots were a hit this fall and I will be making them through winter and beyond! In fact, if you whip up these apple jello shots for a party, just go ahead and make a double batch. Your guests will thank you!

The great thing about flavored whiskey jello shots is that while they have the essence of whiskey, they don’t have that hard flavor of doing a straight whiskey shot. In this case, the green apple jello balances out the apple whiskey and makes these Crown apple shots the perfect combination sweet, sour, and whiskey.

What You’ll Need

• Green Apple Jello – You can find this seasonally in stores and year-round on Amazon.
• Crown Royal Apple – The star of these shots!
• Water 
• Apple Candy Rings – This can be an optional topping, but it makes the drink amazing.
• Plastic Condiment Cups – You can grab the 1oz cups if you want small shots for a crowd. Normal-sized jello shots require  2oz cups.

How to Make Crown Apple Jello Shots

• Start making the jello. Bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, pour in the jello and mix well.
• Begin making the drink mixture. Mix in 1 1/2 cups of Crown Royal Apple.
• Prepare the cups for pouring. Pour the mixture into the condiment cups.
• Store the jello shots. Place cups in the refrigerator to harden. 
• Get ready to enjoy a yummy jello shot. Once the jello is solid, place an apple ring on top and enjoy. 

Jello Shot Essentials

• Condiment cups – Unless you have a large stash of shot glasses, you’ll want to make your jello shots in condiment cups. Most jello shots are made in 2 ounce condiment cups but if you want the shots to go further, you can use 1 ounce condiment cups instead.
• Sauce pan – You’ll want to use a decent, non-stick saucepan for preparing your Jello shots. We like this one.
• Baster – A baster is my secret to easily filling the Jello shot cups, without making a mess!
• Measuring cups – To ensure you’re adding the right amount of water and liquor, you’ll want a decent measuring cup as well.

FAQs & Tips for Success

• Can I use regular Crown Royal? Yes, if you don’t have Crown Apple Royal on hand, you can use what you have. Note that the apple flavor won’t be as strong.
• Make these shots a day in advance. Jello shots need a least 4 hours to chill before serving but longer is better. I recommend making these the night before the party for best results. Plus it’s one less thing to prepare the day of!
• Can I use another form of apple liquor? If you’re not a fan of Crown Royal or just don’t have it on hand, you can use any apple-flavored liquor. Some suggestions are Koval Apple Brandy or St. George California Reserve Apple Brandy.

How to Store

You can store these jello shots in the fridge for up to five days. Keep the Crown Apple Jello Shots in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve them. Once the jello has set, feel free to stack the jello shots on top of one another, so they don’t take up all the room in your fridge.
