Easy Cranberry Cocktail

If you’re looking for a classy yet simple Christmas cocktail, this recipe is for you! At its core, it’s a simple whiskey and cranberry, but it’s spruced up with a rosemary simple syrup and candied cranberries. The simple addition of those two ingredients takes this from a simple whiskey and cranberry to a classy cranberry cocktail.

The best part is that you can make the rosemary simple syrup and candied cranberries in advance, so this Christmas whiskey cocktail literally comes together in seconds. Just shake the ingredients with some cinnamon and pour over ice. You’ll impress your guests without doing any work at all!

FAQs

  • What kind of whiskey tastes good in this drink? You can use anything from your favorite Bourbon to your Scotch. While you certainly don’t need top shelf liquor for this cranberry mixed drink, I don’t recommend grabbing the cheapest option either.
  • Can I use frozen cranberries? Fresh cranberries are really best for this recipe because of the texture and the way the sugar will coat them. In a pinch, and especially if you’re not too concerned with appearance, frozen cranberries will work.
  • Can I make this ahead of time? While I wouldn’t assemble this cranberry cocktail in advance, you can easily prepare parts of it. The rosemary simple syrup can be prepared up to 2 weeks in advance and stored in the fridge in an airtight container. The frosted cranberries can be made and then left to dry on a sheet lined with parchment paper. If made more than a few hours in advance, transfer to an airtight container.
