Boozy Apple Cider with Rum

If you’re a fan of apple cider, you need to try this 21+ version of the flavorful beverage. The Boozy Rum Cider is easy to prepare and enjoyable to drink. You can make it for yourself or serve it to others when hosting family gatherings, birthday parties, and other special events for adults.

Who needs to go to a bar or club to have a good mixed drink? With only five ingredients and a few minutes of your time, you can make this spiked cider with ease. It will quickly become one of those must-have beverages you’ll need to serve at every family function from this point forward!

What You’ll Need

  • Cinnamon Stick – Give your beverage the perfect hint of cinnamon using a fresh cinnamon stick.
  • Rum – Rum adds the booze to this boozy apple cider.
  • Apple Cider – You’ll combine the ingredients with refreshing apple cider for a flavorful beverage.
  • Apple Slices – Use slices of apples to garnish the beverage, making it look even more enjoyable.
  • Ice Cubes – Keep your Boozy Rum Cider fresh and cold by using a few ice cubes with it.

How to Make This Apple Cider Rum Cocktail

  • Add ice to your glass. Pour some ice into a glass cup, filling it near the top.
  • Pour the shot into the glass. Add your shot of rum into the glass full of ice.
  • Top with the apple cider. Begin pouring the apple cider into the glass, pouring it over the shot.
  • Put your cinnamon stick in the glass. Place the cinnamon stick in the glass and give it a good stir to bring more flavor to your beverage.
  • Add your apple slice. Put one or more apple slices around the glass to garnish the beverage.

FAQs & Tips for Success

  • Which type of rum do I need to use for this recipe? The brand of the rum isn’t too important. You can use Jack Daniel’s or any brand of rum that you personally prefer or already have at home. It’s more important that you grab at least a mid-shelf bottle of rum and not the cheapest bottle you find as that will change the flavor.
  • What kinds of apples should I use when garnishing the beverage? While you can use any apple slices for garnish, Honeycrisp and Granny Smith apples are two great choices because of their naturally sweet taste.
  • Be sure to use the cinnamon stick! While you can add a bit of ground cinnamon to the beverage, there is nothing quite like adding the cinnamon stick to the beverage because of its powerful flavor.

Can I Make This In Advance?

While I don’t recommend preparing this apple cider with alcohol too far in advance, you can opt to make a big pitcher of it instead of individual drinks. For a pitcher of boozy cider, add 8 or 12 cups of cider with an equal number of rum shots to a pitcher. Add in a cinnamon stick or two for the added flavor.

Pour over ice as needed then garnish with a slice of apple and additional cinnamon if desired.
