Easy Blue Raspberry Jello Shots
What better way to host a special event than to prepare some delicious jello shots for guests to enjoy. If you’re a fan of these shots and enjoy trying different versions of them, you need to make these easy and incredibly delicious Blue Hawaiian Jello Shots.
The color of the shots makes them look aesthetically pleasing before anyone even bites into them. However, they taste as good as they look, providing guests with the perfect boozy treat to give them a bit of a buzz.

What You’ll Need
- Blue Raspberry Jello – Use this flavor of jello for its bright blue color and incredible taste.
- Water – You’ll need about a cup of water to prepare these shots.
- Coconut Rum – Add a cup of coconut rum to the mixture to give these treats a bit of a boozy touch.
- Cherries – Add a cherry to each of your shots so that guests can eat the cherry with their jello shot.
- Pineapple – Don’t forget to add a small piece of pineapple with the cherry in each shot!

How to Make the Blue Hawaiian Jello Shots
- Boil the water. Pour a cup of water into a pot and bring it to a boil.
- Add your packet of jello. Once the water starts to come to a boil, pour the content of your jello packet into the pot.
- Add the rum. Pour a cup of the coconut rum into the pot with the water and jello packet, mixing the ingredients together.
- Pour in cups. Begin pouring the mixture from the pot into individual condiment cups and then place them in the fridge until they become solid.
- Add your garnish. Once your jello hardens, add a cherry and some pineapple pieces on top to garnish your shots.

FAQs & Tips for Success
- Which brand of coconut rum do I need to use? Choose any brand of coconut rum. However, make sure you’re using coconut-flavored rum because it tastes great with the blue raspberry jello, giving these shots a lot of flavor.
- Do I use fresh cherries for this recipe? No, it’s better to use maraschino cherries because of their sweet taste. You can buy a jar of them and then add one on top of each shot.
- Be sure to let the jello harden before garnishing. Avoid putting the cherries and pineapples on top of the jello shots until they’ve solidified. If you put them on too soon, they might sink to the bottom of the shot.

Jello Shot Essentials
- Condiment cups – Unless you have a large stash of shot glasses, you’ll want to make your jello shots in condiment cups. Most jello shots are made in 2 ounce condiment cups but if you want the shots to go further, you can use 1 ounce condiment cups instead.
- Sauce pan – You’ll want to use a decent, non-stick saucepan for preparing your Jello shots. We like this one.
- Baster – A baster is my secret to easily filling the Jello shot cups, without making a mess!
- Measuring cups – To ensure you’re adding the right amount of water and liquor, you’ll want a decent measuring cup as well.
How to Store
Once you’ve added the jello to the condiment cups, place the cups in the fridge and keep them covered to keep them fresh. You can make them a day or two in advance and keep them refrigerated before you serve them to loved ones.
